Every two weeks we will spotlight a Thank You note from one of the homeowners we helped. Some are very simple, others flow with many words of gratitude but all convey the same message - the impact we've had to make their lives better and the rebuilding of their spirits. You can read the full collection here.
"To the Board of Directors: I want to thank each and every one involved with the great repairs made to my home so that I can stay in it. Everyone was wonderful. My home is 91 years old and I've lived in it for 56 years. My husband died 41 years ago and I continued to raise my 4 children and all had college educations. I am truly grateful. Linda K."
Thank you from Michelle Larkin, Executive Director

On behalf of the Rebuilding Together Saratoga County (RTSC) Board of Directors I would like to thank our generous sponsors and volunteers for their time and money that allows us to continue our work in the community. Our 10th year has been a fruitful-we expect to have worked on 100 projects by year's end, thanks to the Saratoga Builders Association and the Showcase of Homes, we will receive $42,000 and our fundraiser was the best ever- raising over $58,000. RTSC continues to bring the community and awesome volunteers together to address thehome repairs needed to keep elderly, disabled, low-income families or veterans, warm, safe and dry. We can't buy building supplies without our generous donors and we can't make the repairs without the time and efforts of our volunteers. Helping our neighbors in need binds us all together by our commitment, compassion and appreciation of each other's contributions. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers and donors for all you do to help our neighbors in need. Bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of homeowners in need.

SARATOGA SPRINGS >> Even at the early Saturday hour of 9 a.m., even under a rainy sky, the volunteers of Rebuilding Together Saratoga County turned out by the dozens to celebrate their 10th anniversary with a flash-mob photo in Congress Park. Sporting T-shirts from the past 10 years, in shades of turquoise, red, green and yellow, some 60 volunteers gathered to pose for the picture. As each new person walked into the park, the others would call out greetings and share hugs. "This is a great group of volunteers," said Paula Lomasney, president of the nonprofit's board. "We all work together as one big team." The team's mission is to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of homeowners in need, including those with low incomes, disabilities and children.
Rebuilding Together, an affiliate of the national organization, wants to ensure warmth, safety and independence for all homeowners. The volunteers build decks and ramps, do plumbing and electrical repairs, and make areas handicapped-accessible. Executive Director Michelle Larkin said the Saratoga community had embraced Rebuilding Together more quickly and more extensively than she had expected when she first founded the local organization in 2003. She said she was thrilled to be at the decade mark Saturday and looked forward to future projects, including more public education.
RTSC recognizes the importance of volunteers to our community. Help us celebrate 10 years of volunteering. Donate $10 to RTSC and we will acknowledge your special volunteer(s) with a letter, on our website, and in our newsletter. Join us as we celebrate and recognize volunteers who make their communities strong.

Don't ever question the value of volunteers. Noah's Ark was built by volunteers; the Titantic was built by professionals.
